THE CROWN CIRCLE

Magic, as everything, needs to be governed. In its wisdom, the Crown has established what is commonly referred to as the "Crown Circle," a largely independent body of practitioners tasked with keeping the peace and representing Her Majesty's interests both abroad and on the home front.

Anyone can learn to Practice, but it takes true talent to become incredibly proficient. Talent itself doesn't discriminate between rich and poor, man and woman, but only those with the highest aptitude (or a lot of political sway) rise through the ranks of the Circle.

The Members of the Circle are bureaucrats and diplomats, spies and soldiers, servants and policemen and aristocrats. What anyone's true task is, only her majesty and those in the highest echelons of the Circle know.
